lyrics
It’s your birthday, and I’m screaming on the inside of my chest
It’s a nice day and I’d like it if you’d help me to take off my dress
I wish that you could love me the way I keep trying to
But I know that if it’s hard for me, it is probably hard for you
And you’ve said that you don’t like it when I make plans
So put that song on, the one we love that makes us sad
I’ll pretend I’m not going anywhere
Sometimes I sit and I wonder if I’ll know you in one year’s time
Maybe I’ll be in the country
Maybe we’ll still be drinking wine
But for now dear, it hurts too much for me to stay
So put that song on, the one we love and just press play
But for now dear, it hurts too much for me to stay
So put that song on, the one we love, that makes us sad
I’ll pretend I’m not going anywhere

Gorgeous and moving, this album fills a musical void in my collection that I didn't know existed. With lyrics that speak about the human condition and instrumentals that have a medieval flair, this has become my new musical addiction 😁 Not a single note is wasted here 9RnK7
The latest LP from Brigid Mae Power is gorgeous and ghostly, setting Power’s voice against soft brushes of guitar, piano, & shuffling drums. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 17, 2018

I remember seeing everyone freak out on twitter when this was announced. I had literally zero idea what Mitski's music even was like apart from bits of Nobody & Washing Machine Heart, so when it came out I had no idea what to expect.
I think that deciding to listen to this album was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Every single song is a standout track to me, which I don't say lightly. It also led me to listen to the rest of her discography, which I haven't regretted in the slightest. praisedrays
