What is the big deal?
We haven’t spoken since I crossed the border
Were you expecting a handwritten letter like the one you sent to Jacob
Right before we lost him for a while?
You don’t know me, do you, really?
It’s okay, pardon me, I’ll take the blame
For all these years of shame
It’s okay, it’s on my name
I moved to the city and I didn’t come out
I wish I could tell you what that is about
But you don’t want to hear it and you don’t want to be near it, do you?
I moved to the city and I didn’t come out
I wish I could tell you what that is about
But you don’t want to hear it and you don’t want to be near it, do you, really? Do you
Is it so uncommon to forget to dot your little i’s and cross your little t’s until everything looks like an egocentric ‘I’, look at what you have done to me, me, me, me, me, misery
I’m disgusted and entranced, dancing in the sickness of it
You don’t know me, do you, really?
It’s okay, pardon me, I’ll take the blame
For all these years of shame
It’s okay, it’s on my name
I moved to the city and I didn’t come out
I wish I could tell you what that is about
But you don’t want to hear it and you don’t want to be near it, do you?
I moved to the city and I didn’t come out
I wish I could tell you what that is about
But you don’t want to face it and I don’t want to explain it to you
I moved to the city and I didn’t come out
I wish I could tell you what that is about
But you don’t want to hear it and you don’t want to be near it, do you, really? Do you
I wish we could communicate
It just gets so hard to relate
I wish we could communicate
It just gets so hard to
Gorgeous and moving, this album fills a musical void in my collection that I didn't know existed. With lyrics that speak about the human condition and instrumentals that have a medieval flair, this has become my new musical addiction 😁 Not a single note is wasted here 9RnK7
The latest LP from Brigid Mae Power is gorgeous and ghostly, setting Power’s voice against soft brushes of guitar, piano, & shuffling drums. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 17, 2018
I remember seeing everyone freak out on twitter when this was announced. I had literally zero idea what Mitski's music even was like apart from bits of Nobody & Washing Machine Heart, so when it came out I had no idea what to expect.
I think that deciding to listen to this album was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Every single song is a standout track to me, which I don't say lightly. It also led me to listen to the rest of her discography, which I haven't regretted in the slightest. praisedrays
